Here's a scene from “Das Boot” with remixed audio I sampled from James Cameron’s, “Aliens” (1986). The first 45 seconds took me forever to reconstruct the subtle sounds of the atmospheric processor plant (since the soundscape was buried deep in added effects)... (More Info):

FYI: It’s interesting to note that a few sound editors from “Das Boot”, also went on to later work on “Aliens” as well.

Timecode Details:

(0:00): Atmospheric Processor (echo pulse and rumble sound) from "Aliens"... Note: I removed the pan flute music from this part in “Das Boot”.

(0:42): I added the siren alarm from "Aliens" during the imploding water pressure scene... The alarm sample I layered in a cascading loop, and tweaked in a compressor / spatializer to add depth. (The dialogue and alarm levels were also adjusted for distance and proximity).
