Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume has blasted the Albanese government for its “poor policy choices” which have left Australians “worse off”.

The Coalition is calling on the Albanese government to prioritise cutting spending and lowering inflation in the May Budget.

“Well, two years of a Labor government with wrong priorities and poor policy choices have essentially left Australians worse off,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.

“We want to make sure that this budget doesn’t miss the opportunity to restore prosperity of all Australians.

“We need to restore those fiscal guardrails that were in place, and budget discipline and honesty.”
