"O come, O come Immanuel", the English translation of an anonymous Latin hymn is a prayer for the coming of Christ. The song reminds us about the people of Israel longing for the coming of the Messiah. But it goes beyond that longing by voicing the waiting of the church of Christ for the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to consummate the history of redemption.
