The BA-64 Armored Car (BA-64-125 prototype) designed by Vitaly Grachev was first demonstrated to Kliment Voroshilov on January 10, 1942. In May 1942, the BA-64 was officially adopted by the Red Army; in the summer of that year, armored vehicles took part in battles. From the spring of 1943 to 1946, the most widespread modification BA-64B was built, on the chassis of the GAZ-67 light SUV.
