The Archdiocese of L.A. was furious with the school for allowing Pump to shoot a video that depicted images of drugs, and the story was picked up by broadcast news outlets.

The rapper embraced the backlash on his song “Designer,” incorporating samples from the news reports. The track dropped this past December and has since raked in over 32 million Spotify streams. The producer behind the song is noted beat-maker Zaytoven, who has also worked with everyone from Migos to Nicki Minaj to Future to Travis Scott, among others.
