In 1991, Steve Roach and Robert Rich and set off to play at a new music festival on the Island of Lanzarote, a part of the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.
Days before they were set to leave, the Gulf War broke out. With the tickets booked and the performance fee already spent, there was no choice but to go. When arriving at the airport in Madrid tank escorts were around the American Airlines plane and full military presence was everywhere.
