Restoration of old broken sheep shearing shears. . I found it during a hike in a high-altitude area. Hand-forged in rustic conditions. And I want to restore them to use in my workshop.
First of all, I removed the rust with a rust remover, then I used a sandblaster for further cleaning.
I cut a broken piece of the blade from a steel hand saw on wood and welded it with scissors using a welding machine. Then all the irregularities were filled with lead and sanded and sharpened.
With the help of mesh tape and elastic black paste, I made two new handles. I painted it black and also made a new scabbard with a locking strap.
Also made a fun test for you. I hope you enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
