विष्णु प्रताप सिंह (विक्रम गोखले) अपनी पत्नी (फरीदा जलाल) के साथ अपने गांव में अपना 60वां जन्मदिन मना रहे हैं। अपनी पत्नी के कहने पर, विष्णु प्रताप ने अपने बिछड़े हुए बेटे के परिवार को इस कार्यक्रम के लिए बॉम्बे से बुलाया। उनका पोता, अभय (फ़रदीन खान), अपनी माँ और बहन के साथ गाँव आता है, और शुरू में उसका स्वागत शत्रुता के साथ किया जाता है। हालाँकि, वह एक दयालु और देखभाल करने वाला पक्ष दिखाता है जो उसके परिवार के सदस्यों का स्नेह जीतता है। वह विष्णु प्रताप के दोस्त की पोती मंगला (ऋचा पल्लोड) से भी दोस्ती करने लगता है, जो परिवार के साथ रहती है। दोनों शरारतें करना और एक-दूसरे को चिढ़ाना शुरू कर देते हैं, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप अंततः उन्हें प्यार हो जाता है। अभय का वीरेंद्र प्रताप (गोविंद नामदेव) के परिवार, विशेष रूप से अपने भतीजे, रुद्र प्रताप (शरद कपूर) के साथ झगड़ा हो जाता है। विष्णु प्रताप ने अभय को उसके कार्यों के लिए थप्पड़ मारा, भले ही वह रुद्र के खिलाफ अपना बचाव कर रहा था।

Vishnu Pratap Singh (Vikram Gokhale) is celebrating his 60th birthday in his village with his wife (Farida Jalal). At the behest of his wife, Vishnu Pratap calls his estranged son's family from Bombay for the event. Their grandson, Abhay (Fardeen Khan), arrives with his mother and sister to the village, and is initially greeted with animosity. However, he shows a kind and caring side that wins the affections of his family members. He also starts to become friendly with Mangala (Richa Pallod), granddaughter of Vishnu Pratap's friend, who lives with the family. The two start playing pranks and teasing each other, which eventually leads to them falling in love. Abhay ends up getting into a fight with the family of Virendra Pratap (Govind Namdeo), specifically his nephew, Rudra Pratap (Sharad Kapoor). Vishnu Pratap slaps Abhay for his actions even though he was defending himself against Rudra.
