Anthony Kiedis, Michael Balzary, Chad Smith and John Frusciante. Four musicians that collectively, have been the longest standing members of a funk rock band from Los Angeles, California. It’s fair to say the group have experienced their fair share of trauma, drama and sadly, death. The original line up that formed in 1982 would be plagued with an addiction that would end in a fatal tragedy for one of their early members.

To date, they have released 13 studio albums that feature a range of genres influenced by funk, reggae, pop, punk, disco and rock. Spanning a 40 plus year career they’ve become one of the biggest selling artists in recent times, seeing huge commercial success with songs such as Californication, Can’t Stop, By The Way and Give It Away.

Not only have they dipped their fingers into a global cultural pie throughout the years, they also became the centre of attention in 2012 after being targeted by anti-Israel campaigners who tried to force the band to cancel a planned show in Tel Aviv due to political tensions between the East and the West.
