Sha'Carri Richardson discusses her "relationship" with Alana Reid

Jamaica's teenage speed sensation and the American women's 100-meter world champion: an unlikely combination, would not you say? But if you look at this, you will notice that she has potential. There is a lot of potential, actually. And, based on #ShaCarriRichardson, it makes sense to see the current world champion and an aspiring world champion together.

On that note, I probably do not need to tell you about the current 100m world champion, but most of you are probably unfamiliar with Alana Reid. You may be familiar with the Jamaican sprinter who, at the age of 17, won a bronze medal in the 200 meters at the 2022 World U-20 Championships in Cali, Colombia. She finished in 22.95 seconds, a personal best.

Alana then ran a personal best of 11.16 seconds in the 100m semi-final at the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships, which took place in March 2023 at the #trackandfield National Stadium in Kingston. Notably, it was the fastest time since 2001, falling just 0.03 seconds short of Veronica Campbell Brown's championship record.
