👉 Learn how to find probability from a normal distribution curve. A set of data are said to be normally distributed if the set of data is symmetrical about the mean. The shape of a normal distribution curve is bell-shaped. The normal distribution curve is such that the mean is at the center of the curve with each side of the mean about three standard deviations from the mean.
The empirical rule states that for a normally distributed data set, about 68% of the data falls within the first standard deviation from the mean, about 95% of the data falls within two standard deviations from the mean and about 99.7% of the data falls within three standard deviations of the mean.
