LEWCO shipped a large conveyor system recently that included operator push-off sorting lanes for poly drums. There is an elevated walkway along the outside of the powered roller conveyor, on which the operators walk/stand to sort the drums. The rollers have full width Ultrex sleeves to minimize catch points and promote low friction.

When a drum needs to be sorted off the powered roller conveyor, the operator pushes it sideways off the conveyor and onto one of the declined gravity sort lanes. These feature an operator walkway between each pair of lanes, for them to assist drum movement.

Drums run down the gravity lanes to floor level, where they are removed by clamp truck.

LEWCO engineers worked with the customer to incorporate their preferred operating methods into a new conveyor system.

LEWCO offers a quality product that is cost effective and built to the highest industry standards. Reduction in manual material handling, improved product flow, better ergonomics and elimination of shipping damage are just some of the benefits of a well-designed LEWCO conveyor system.
