Concrete barrier systems are used to separate traffic and to shield hazards on roadways. In some cases, attachments may be placed on top of the barriers, to reduce the likelihood of pedestrians attempting to cross highways.

This project identified existing products that can be attached to concrete barriers and evaluate how the systems performed. The result is to improve safety for pedestrians and those traveling in vehicles.
