Back in the mid 90's I attempted to make a feature on 16mm with a group of friends and family. The movie was called MELODY'S SURVIVING, an odd little story about a defibrillator salesman that goes on the road with a demonstration doll called Cardio Cathy. He starts getting hooked on speed that he takes for the long rides, eventually leading to hallucinations.

I ran out of money, we didn't really have the best equipment, the project was abandoned. All the film reels sat in a cardboard box that ended up out in my shed, baking for more than a decade. I just couldn't throw it away.

CUT TO: present day, fifteen years later. All of the footage has been developed and transfered thanks to my friends at Deluxe. It's great to see what survived. It's also great to see myself, and my friends, and my family working our asses off to make this doomed movie. I love that. That's determination.

Look for actors Rob Knox, Emily Cox, John Still, Leon Griffin, and a younger (thinner) me. Also look for my crew Seth Hagee (brother-in-law), Erin Hagee (sister-in-law), John Hubbell (known since the 4th grade), and the late, great Guy Woolett on sound.
