Columbia University announced Monday that the school is canceling their university-wide graduation ceremony commencement. Instead the university will focus on smaller-scale school based celebrations for students and their families. The news comes amid Gaza war protests throughout Manhattan, New York City and Columbia's campus that ended in hundreds of arrests and have increased in intensity over the past days and weeks. NYPD revealed nearly half of the protesters arrested were not students.
