After reacting to "Judgement Day" by LOVEBITES, the comments were flooded with requests for "Alien Alien Bass Cover" - a solo feature from their bassist Fami. I talk about her hybrid slap and pop techniques, her use of thumb raking to create percussive "flamenco" rhythms, her use of two-handed tapping (and tips on how to execute the technique), her jazz bass tone, and most importantly, how the phrasing of her bass grooves sound extremely catchy. What an incredible talent - I hope to visit Japan someday to immerse myself in their incredible musical culture!
