Russia Launches Massive Air Attacks on Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure | Firstpost America

Russian forces launched missiles and drones targeting nearly a dozen of Ukraine's power facilities. The aerial onslaught, which is the largest in weeks, came just two days after Vladimir Putin was sworn in as Russia's President for the fifth time. Russia launched 76 air attack weapons in the latest assault, including 55 missiles and 21 drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the airstrikes were carried out on the day Ukraine celebrated the day of remembrance honouring the victory over Nazis in World War II. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began in 2022, has left Ukraine's energy infrastructure paralysed. A recent study says that the total cost of rebuilding the economy stands at $486 billion and is climbing.
