Hayley Kiyoko documents her journey as an openly queer woman on her debut album ‘Expectations,’ which includes the Kehlani-assisted “What I Need.” On the song, she draws from personal experience while expressing frustration with a girl who’s uncomfortable with her sexuality. The self-directed music video stars the musical collaborators in a dramatic love story inspired by some of Kiyoko’s favorite movies.
