Providence police are investigating a stabbing that occurred at Rhode Island Hospital early Friday morning. Commander Timothy O’Hara said 39-year-old Manuel Gouveia was being escorted out of the waiting area just before 2 a.m. for a disturbance when he pulled out a straight-edged razor blade and assaulted two security guards.
