Last night, the cast and filmmakers of the highly anticipated supernatural horror film, Imaginary, took a spine-chilling journey through the immersive pop-up experience, Blumhouse Presents: Chauncey’s Imaginary Playhouse. The exclusive Preview Night provided a sneak peek into the eerie world of the movie, leaving attendees with goosebumps and heightened anticipation.

Actors DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, and Pyper Braun, accompanied by the film's Writer/Director/Producer Jeff Wadlow, explored the interactive IMAGINARY-themed playhouse alongside Blumhouse's creepy new villain mascot, Chauncey. The experience guided them through multiple thrilling rooms, culminating in Chauncey’s deep dark basement, where the shocking truth behind the film unfolds. The sold-out activation, which promises scares and surprises for fans, has already generated buzz.

In collaboration with Blumhouse Productions, Lionsgate is gearing up to unleash childhood nightmares with their upcoming supernatural horror film, Imaginary. Directed by Jeff Wadlow and featuring a star-studded cast including DeWanda Wise and Betty Buckley, the film is set to hit theaters on March 8, 2024.

The spine-chilling narrative begins when Jessica (DeWanda Wise) returns to her childhood home with her family, only to discover her old stuffed bear, Chauncey. The seemingly innocent games between her stepdaughter, Alice, and Chauncey take a sinister turn, revealing a horrifying truth that challenges the boundaries of imagination.

A bold marketing move heightened anticipation for the film, as Lionsgate released a visually restrained, audio-centric teaser exclusively in theaters. The teaser, designed to evoke mystery and fear, successfully captivated audiences, leading to increased searches for Imaginary during the opening weekend of Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Keri Moore, Lionsgate’s co-president of worldwide theatrical marketing, explained the decision, stating that the teaser's exclusivity was a deliberate move to reward and surprise moviegoers, creating a unique cinematic experience. While the teaser provided a tantalizing glimpse, a traditional trailer offering a deeper insight into the film's themes and plot is set to be released in the coming month.

With a production budget of $13 million and principal photography in New Orleans, Imaginary promises to blur the lines between the imaginary and the horrifyingly real. As the release date approaches, audiences are poised for a cinematic journey that challenges perceptions of childhood innocence, redefining the horror genre.

Stay tuned for the release of the full trailer, and brace yourselves for the unsettling cinematic experience that is Imaginary.
