Mental health, addiction, and recovery are stigmatized in the LGBTQ+ community, but shame keeps us sick and suffering. I want to share my journey towards sobriety, in the hopes that it can speak to others struggling with the cycle drug abuse and chaotic relationships.

Here's what my bottom looked like: HIV infection, near overdoses, and profound depression. A deep-seated meaninglessness and hopelessness. Before i found the daily reprieve of 12 Step programs (Alcoholics Anonymous and others!), regular therapy, and living a life of service.
