*Dear Friends :-D,
Kindly NOTE that, the absence or presence of ANY of the parameters, is not entirely 100%. For example, the Artist or Craftsman may wish to ADD a bit more clay to REFINE the outside area around the circumferential ManPian 满片 or DiPian 底片 seams, and thus smearing off the presence of these natural Man Pian/Di Pian seams. * Also, these ManPian and DiPian seams are often FAKED on by non-Fully-Handmade pots (jigger-machined, slip-casted pots): the factory boss nowadays, often INSTRUCT his workers to swivel a tool and cut a line to FAKE the ManPian/DiPian seams. NOT ONLY THAT, the factor bosses have recently have new MOLDS that INHERENTLY have a seam on the top circumference and bottom circumference so that the jigger-machined pot that pops out of it, will HAVE FAKE MANPIAN AND DIPIAN SEAMS!

~~~~~~~~~~
Dearest Friends and Buddies, this is one of the higher grade of imitation pots on the market hovering around the US$260-$300 range, sent in by one of our viewers who bought it just a month ago from a certain platform. This imitation pot comes with 1)faked on rear adjoining line 假冒的搭接线, 2)faked stamp on the inner wall (extremely blurred and indistinct) 假冒 内壁章, 3)? low ascent of brush lines (tui qiang gua di 低 推墙挂底 ) , and 4)this is definitely a machined pot 机车壶, but with the likely addition of non-YiXing ZiSha “外地泥” into the main pasty non-ZiSha ceramic mixes to try to imitate the feel of authentic ZiSha pots, and even mimic the patina 模仿包浆 through use of a Fully-Handmade ZiSha pot..
Clues to this pot's machined origins:
1. High weight,
2. Absence of the seams on the outside (if present would reflect the application of the top plate (Man Pian 满片), and of the base plate (Di Pian 底片) in Fully-Handmaking process),
3. Totally smooth transition of the base plate to the side wall (visible on the base periphery/circumferential ring: no seam visible!
4. Rough, very rough and crude, gross jagged edge all round on the top regions of the inner side walls.
5. Basal brush lines 太阳线 on the base plate are NOT uniformly RADIAL.
Other indicators: after him and his friends bought six off from the website, the pot continues to be available (likely machined pots coming off from a commercial, machining factory)
The inner stamp: its presence, its absence or the clearness of the stamp, are not very strong indicators of whether a pot is Fully-Handmade or Fake. However it is a factor which will add up in one's assessment and judgement of a ZiSha pot.
There are even higher imitation pots each costing $100,000s and above coming from highly "skilled" dishonest circles comprising crafters and businessmen, which we do not want to disclose here. Many famous Artists are also involved in such circles. Such circles "serve" the very rich and there is a nickname in China for such unfortunate customers going around in circles (pun not intended) : the so-called "国宝帮" Guo Bao Bang. Collectors of Art, be it any type of Ceramics, Paintings, etc who unfortunately are classed as the "Guo Bao Bang" type of people, are often cheated into paying top dollars for works of Art (hailed to be directly from the Artists, even showing photos of them with the Artists) but they keep getting and receiving the wrong Art works, of course including ZiSha pots. The unscrupulous retailers know of multiple ways to hoax these very rich, and the latter often remain in that realm, unwilling to know their blindspots, remaining in that vicious cycle of spending and spending.
Thank you friends for your time and the journey together to appreciate real ZiSha Art and creations from hardworking and honest craftsladies, craftsmen and artists. Just do honest work, support honest works, remain low key, always humble and willing to learn, and be happy.
Enjoy the tea, the peaceful gathering of friends, and appreciate fine Art and workmanship.
Warmest Regards,
~ Yi_Lei and ian
