Ivan Baranchyk, nicknamed "The Beast", is a Belarusian professional boxer with a record of 20 and 1 with 13 of those wins by way of knockout. Baranchyk was born in Amursk, Russia but moved to Belarus when he was young. He liked aggressive sports in his childhood and decided to focus on boxing, when he attended a combat school with his friends. His childhood boxing hero is Mike Tyson. As an amateur, he enjoyed a very solid career though, as a senior, he didn’t appear at any of the major International tournaments before electing to turn pro in the summer of 2014. He did, however, win the world championship as a junior in 2009. Ivan turned pro early 2014 in his native Belarus, after winning his first 3 fights.. he moved to united states looking for a chance to prove himself against the top fighters of his division. His big moment came on March 25, 2016, when he put the division on notice by stopping previously unbeaten Nicholas Givhan in one round on Showtime. He amassed a record of 18 and 0 before entering season 2 of the World Boxing Super Series. In his opening round matchup, Ivan faced and defeated top ranked Swedish fighter Anthony Yigit to win the vacant IBF light welterweight title. Although his power is very noticeable, Baranchyk feels his biggest asset as a boxer is his character. As of November 2019, he is ranked as the world’s fourth best active junior welterweight by The Ring Magazine, eighth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and ninth by BoxRec.
