Oh boy do people love this theme. It's very surprising to me that out of all the Kung Fu Panda villain themes, this is the one everyone praises and adores. And don't get me wrong, it's very catchy and I understand the appeal, but personally it lacks the complexity and depth the themes for Shen and Tai Lung are able to reach. It's also weird Zimmer thought an Imagine Dragons riff would be fitting for a Kung Fu Panda villain, I don't really understand the choice outside of it "sounding cool". Regardless, I do think Kai's theme excels in being catchy and having momentum, and in a lot of the action pieces it wears that skill on its sleeve. You know your villain themes are something else when this is the weakest one, and it's still catchy and memorable.
