Wealthy rancher G. W. McLintock (John Wayne) uses his power and influence in the territory to keep the peace between ranchers, corrupt government officials and himself and his ex—wife (Maureen O'Hara). The film is roughly based on William Shakespeare's play 'The Taming Of The Shrew'.
