Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says the Albanese government “need to do more” to “tackle violence against women”.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was heckled at a ‘No More’ rally against men’s violence in Canberra over the weekend.

The rally was attended by 5,000 people.

“We know we need to do more as a government, as a society, to tackle violence against women,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia.

“The Prime Minister was there yesterday to let the organisers and people know we need to do more and, importantly, to listen.”
