Hi! Today, the restoration of the mysterious dirty scabbard and, in my opinion, the knife. My friend's new find. The leather suspension and the tip of the handle are visible. We are starting to restore.

After removing the dirt, I found a piece of steel inside the roughly made iron "scabbard". After a complete cleaning, I determined that it was a piece of a saber of the 1881 model (I am 95% sure of this!).

The steel is good - the project has begun. I'll make a knife. I used the back of the blade where the holes appeared from the rust.

Furthermore, I adjusted the blade, sharpened it and took a deer horn for the handle. Secured with two rivets and glue.

I additionally processed and made an ordinary leather case from the leather of an old boot in which this blade will be stored.
