Just a pre-final-boss exhibition fight and a good opportunity to showcase Hope's Last Resort. Since this is officially the last "non-backtrackable" regular encounter before the final battle, I didn't want to ignore it.

It also gives me an excuse to ponder about how the other variations of these enemy types are called...
PSICOM Marauder
PSICOM Executioner
PSICOM Warlord
PSICOM Reaver
...and yet these guys are called "Sanctum" Templars. It got me thinking that these guys might be Sanctum l'Cie, or even human shaped fal'Cie, tasked to guard Eden and/or Orphan. But then they use "Manadrive" magic, so those theories are out of the question. Next best guess is that they're part of the Sanctum's inner circle or elite group or something. They're appropriately named "Templars" after all. Eh, the former theories would've been cooler.
