How to Change Primary Display on Windows 11

In this short tutorial, I’ll show you how to change the primary display in Windows 11. The process is almost the same as it was in Windows 10. You can change this in a few easy steps.

#1 First, minimise all your apps

#2 Right-click somewhere on your desktop and select Display settings

#3 At the top of the screen, you should see all available displays. Select the display that you want to set as the primary display.

#4 Click on the Identify button if you are not sure which display is which.

#5 You might need to change the position of the screens depending on your setup. To do this, you can drag the screen and place it anywhere you want.

#6 Finally, check the box next to Make this my main display.

There are a few other things to do in the System Display Settings screen. Next to the Identify button, you have a short dropdown window.

Usually, this is set to Extend these displays. You can set it to show only on display one or display two. Doing so makes the other screen turn black.
There is one more option, which is Duplicate these displays. When you do this, all your screens show the same content.
