Getting new front tires for the buggy wasn't as cheap or fast as I'd been hoping for, but the minor delay was ultimately irrelevant as transport was delayed multiple times. It all worked out in the end though!

There were several weeks between shooting the beginning and end of this episode. I initially considered airing it with just the tire replacement, but I think the payoff is better despite the wait.

Interestingly, there is a second buggy (as well as a 3-ton unit I'm curious about) in our neck of the woods. It's configured as a two-boom pneumatic drill jumbo and was taken out of service after its hydraulic pump exploded two years ago. It's parked near the supply conex at the mine; I can shoot a video of it if anyone is interested.

We're looking at purchasing a second buggy in the next few months. Gail and I checked out the machine in question about two years ago; its acquisition is easily justified as it will double our mucking rate and more efficiently utilize my LHD and the mine's infrastructure. Most importantly, it has a full roll bar rather than the dinky headache bar common to older buggies. The headache bar offers no protection from rollover or overhead impact - I'd prefer both! The second machine can be checked out here:    • Young Buggy 960 #328 Walkaround & Demo
