This video shows how to use several functions to create a dynamic list of months for reporting purposes. The first exercise uses a formula that dynamically returns the last X number of rows from a table. That way, when new data is added the formula updates its resulting accordingly.
Next, we write a formula that returns the specified number of months, starting at the specified date. That way, we can use a lookup function to retrieve the corresponding table data.
Specifically, we use these functions in our formulas:
- TAKE
- EOMONTH
- SEQUENCE
- XLOOKUP
Note: the functions presented in this video are NOT available in all Excel versions.
