Die plaasseun Buks gaan woon by sy oupa en ouma nadat hy sy ouers verloor het. Hy is nie gelukkig daar nie en loop weg na die plaas, waar die werkers Willem en Siena agtergebly het. Toe sy oupa hom weer gaan haal, is daar ’n stryery met Willem, wat die seun op die plaas wil hou. Daar is egter ’n misverstand en Buks vlug weer.

A young boy named Buks loses his parents in a car crash and all he has left is his loyal dog, Lelik. Forced to live with his alcoholic uncle who resents Lelik, Buks sets off on the the long walk home.
